The most important thing in music is not to be found in the notes.

Gustav Mahler

Rather than a long CV:

I grew up at the end of the 1960s in southern Germany (Hessen) with German-Czech roots. After many musical projects in different styles, I found my home in JAZZ.

My greatest passion is JAZZ standards from the 1930s to 1950s, with their distinctive melodies and possibilities for interpretation and expression.

My real love is Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, the great ladies of jazz. The great expressiveness and depth of their artistry was – and still is today – an example for me.

JAZZ is joy & passion, as intense as life itself.

PS: By the way, my nickname Betty Gee comes from the title of one of my favourite songs –
Gee Baby, Ain't I Good To You.
